English Project

Criteria Checklist for the Museum Box Presentation
Due Friday the 14th
Students will be presenting a collection of items of their choice through the use of a museum box.  A museum box is simply a box in which one keeps memorabilia or collections. In the class novel “Wonderstruck” by Brian Selznick, the main character had a museum box, and each item led to a snapshot in time or a story that is important to him.
To make a connection to this book, and to work on their oral presentation skills, students will be presenting their museum boxes on February 14th.  Students have had the opportunity to present in groups, and so now they will have the chance to take what they have learned, and put it into practice on their own.
The following is the criteria that the students and I have decided is needed for a grade 4 level oral presentation.  Students are encouraged to organize their museum boxes this week which will allow them to practice the “stories” they will tell about each item. Note that this is not a written assignment; rather we are working on public speaking skills.
